The DeWitt Area has the unique opportunity of being serviced by four public school districts, major universities, two year colleges, trade schools and gradutate schools. The greatest portion of the area is served by the DeWitt Public School District which encompasses the entire northwest corner of the Township, the City of DeWitt and portions of the central and western areas of the Township. The Lansing School District serves the southern portion of the area, Bath the Northeast corner, and East Lansing covers a small portion of the southeast corner of the Township.

The DeWitt Public Schools are preparing students today for the challenges and opportunities of a global society. By joining together with our community and families we provide an environment of excellence that results in achievement for all students. The DeWitt School District is home to four elementary schools, junior high school, and high school.

The southern tier of DeWitt Township is serviced by Sheridan Road Elementary School, Pattengill Junior High and Eastern and Sexton High Schools all part of the Lansing Public School District. The District has 29 schools in total including 6 Magnet Schools and 2 Montessori School.

Bath Community Schools is currently the smallest public school district serving the northeast area of DeWitt Township. Bath has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school.

Post-Secondary Educational Opportunities are numerous for residents of the DeWitt Area. Full-time,part-time, online, and easy commutes provide an array of possibilities.

We are proud to be within 15 minutes of Michigan State University, a well-respected Big Ten School. MSU is recognized around the world as a top research university and is one of only four higher education institutions in the nation to rank in the top 10 for study abroad participation and international student enrollment. MSU has also been selected to design and establish the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, also known as FRIB.

Thomas M Cooley Law School is located within 20 minutes of DeWitt and is the nation’s largest law school offering four campuses across Michigan and a new campus in Tampa Bay Florida. IN addition to the J.D. degree, students can pursue a graduate or joint degree.

Lansing Community College is one of the most comprehensive colleges focused upon offering learning opportunities in four areas: career and workforce development, general education, developmental education and personal enrichment. LCC is recognized as a local, state, national, and international leader in forging educational partnerships with business, industry and government to better meet the needs of an ever changing worldwide market place.

Great Lakes Christian College is an institution of higher education affiliated with Christian Churches/Churches of Christ and is located within 10 minutes of DeWitt.

University Center is a partnership between Lansing Community College and six four-year universities and is located on LCC’s main campus. Partner universities offer junior and senior level courses leading to over 30 Bachelor’s degrees and several post-baccalaureate certificates and Master’s degrees. Partnering Universities include: Ferris State University, Lawrence Technological University, Northwood University, Siena Heights University, University of Michigan Flint, and Western Michigan University.

Baker College is the largest independent college in Michigan with the most focused approach to education and training available. Baker’s mission is to prepare students for meaningful employment. Baker offers over 140 Certificate, Associate, Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral programs in only the.high-demand fields of business, engineering/technology health, education, human service, office administration, and computers.

Davenport University is focused on providing students with an education that will advance their career and make them successful.

Northwood University is a specialized business school offering more than a degree. With many specialized business majors to choose form the student will have the opportunity to start business classes the day they step into a classroom. Academics combined with internships and externships provide the student the hands-on experience they need to earn a great job after graduation.
